The Cirrus Perspective. An EVS-600 on a cirrus SR22 and go along for the ride as we demonstrate the system at night. The EVS-600 offers pilots of General Aviation aircraft to see and prevent runway incursions by clearly identifying runways, taxiways, buildings, parked aircraft, and people while taxiing, taking off and landing during night time and low visibility. Runways, buildings, clouds, lakes, and fields can be identified while airborne on approach, greatly enhancing situational awareness and pilot safety during critical flight operations. See and avoid nighttime cloud buildups for smooth ride Avoid inadvertent flight into IMC Clearly see through Smoke and haze Fly at Night like it's a VFR Day

  • You are correct, everything we hang on the outside of our aircraft causes drag. Even the dirt on my plane that I never seem to get time to wash has a penalty associated with it. The faster you go, the bigger the penalty for any given structure. The EVS is similar to an antenna and has 0.3 drag points calculated. on the aircraft that we have installed and tested (Certified on over 165 models of aircraft) it is less than a knot of speed. It is much less drag than the old ADF's and Radomes, etc

  • Quick question, doesn't the evs outboard cam u showed us cause drag? It's a useful piece of equipment but the way it's there on the wing it would cause parasite drag.

  • Good morning,

these EVS systems are good at seeing further than your eyes but do not see "through" clouds etc. They will show you where the clouds are after dark and allow diversion like you would by day. They also assist in showing embedded buildups and they look further "into" the fog than your eyes. A rule of thumb is that it assists you to see 6-8 seconds further than visible light

  • Nice Video, How much is this system to have as an extra or to have fitted and whats is it like in fog or cloud can you see through fog ? Thanks

  • I wish they had this when I started flying. I had to learn how to use an astro compass to get my commercial license.

  • One of the best things i have ever seen in life!!! just another 245,995 dollars to go and i'll own one of these babies!! lol
