  • also I think the differences between SIL and SPR are tremendous and the arguments for both have thusly been stratified. it's a bit like the 1962 best actor Oscar, which was basically a toss up between Peter otoole and Gregory peck; also an unfortunate scenario. the good news is that we can judge for ourselves which movies we proffer

  • saving private Ryan is a great movie, but so is Shakespeare in love. I think what gave Shakespeare the edge was the way that it legitimized the farce; it paved the way for intellectual comedies, although no film has thence taken the lead IMO.

  • can you download this song somewhere online?? also the 2008 version?

  • thank u

  • @emaleedrinkstea

    please do!

  • Well said. ^_^

    Good choices there, BTW.

  • i understand what you're saying perfectly. A common misconception with the oscars is people think their trying to find out which is the best film, when they are actually saying which one they liked best. Lawrence of Arabia and Goodfellas are my favourite movies, to me GF is the greatest movie ever made, but at sometimes I like LoA better. Thats why I said is about timing. They probably liked TDK best when it came out, but their love for Winslet made them like The reader better come award season.

  • But it's not about the boost; it's about the best film of the year. Which The Reader certainly wasn't. TDK and Wall-E were both better, and one of them should've been nominated instead. That's all I'm saying.
