Classic Game Room HD - NEO-GEO CD console review

Classic Game Room HD reviews the SNK NEO-GEO CD from 1994. This CD version of the amazing Neo-Geo AES plays many of the same games in CD form. Plagued by awful loading times thanks to the 1x speed CD drive in the game system, the NeoGeo CD is the least popular Neo Geo out there but CGR thinks it is a good buy for those looking for SNK games and Japanese release for a better price. The Neo Geo CD has no region encoding and will play Japan region Japanese Neo Geo video games (I've only tested with an NTSC Neo Geo CD). The Neo Geo CD has composite video, S-Video and stereo audio. Plays audio CDs. Neo Geo CD consoles can be had for a fraction of the price that the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo MVS sell for. Games are usually much less money as well. This CGR review of the Neo Geo CD shows the game console in HD with numerous NeoGeo CD games.

Growing up everyone had so many "myths" about this system. "The most expensive" "Best graphics" on and on. NEVER even saw one, to this day never saw one in person. Probably the most "mystic" system that ever existed! Everyone was an expert on it, but never ever saw one let alone play on one. LOL.

The stores never sold games for it. Toys r Us, Game Stop, Video Stores, etc...

Was such a mystery...

I only ever saw this in the gamer magazine. I love fighting games and would always drool over the games for it.

if you think this console is slow, i have one question to ask you. ever heard of the Mattel hyper-scan? that console is an abomination of slow consoles everywhere. that console is so slow i couldnt beat even one level of any game. i am not joking. i literally watched an entire tv show (full thirty minutes) and came back to it and it was still loading. it was incredibly slow, and i can't believe how long it took to load. and every time you want to play a new level, ithas to LOAD AGAIN!!!.

the NeoGeo CD version of Wind Jammers is better than the AES version... and WInd Jammers is my favorite game on it so... i like NeoGeo CD better

I remember this thing selling with the price 3 times higher than SNES and Genesis but never saw any games around.

I had one but was so pissed off that nobody had the console but just me; had nobody to lend me games. I had to rent em'all!
