Filmed in 1977 by my dad, this music video nearly became "dust in the wind" until it was restored from its failing 8mm format.

Why are we talking about a person trying to end them selves,why not just stick to this lovely song and take it at face value ? yes it can be interpreted a hundred million ways but it is simpler to enjoy it for what it is.

I'd say that depends on where you cut the throat.

I do recall hearing about some obscure celebrity a few years ago being thwarted in her suicide attempt; she was found after she slit her wrists and her throat, and made it out of the experience alive.

how do you survive slitting your throat? you only need to be at a 6th of a inch into the skin to cut open a artery?, you'd bleed out in matter of minutes

Blacking out and passing out are different; I have a friend who has blacked out on occasions and done things he doesn't remember. Considering the violent and regrettable nature of some of these things, it may be good he doesn't remember the actions.
