  • The best place I found iron filings is in sand. I just dropped a magnet in the sand and presto instant iron filings.

  • @2minstral yes your absolute right. The gas station is just a quicker source for me.......

  • sorry im not english, so i dont understand what you say when you say:

you can get it on your locas gas station, where they do break "drums"

my question is... what do you mean with "drums"... (because i only know one thing called drums, and its an instrument, so i would like to know exactly what it is..)

    anyway thanks for the vid

  • @Djocovicable "gas station" is where they fill cars with gas and some station also work on cars. Drums refer to the car brake systems. When they machine the drums, it make iron filings...ok?

  • which gas station was it?

  • It's on the west coast in Redwood city

  • Use neodymium magnets. Those bar magnets are not as good.

  • @mcorrade Thanks a bunch. I was just fixing to order some and saw your post. I have so many places near that grind Brake drums/rotors and flywheels. I pass them every day! and even if they don't share..., a couple of magnets on a shoe will get me a little bit just for walking in there to ask.

  • where,in 'break drums'.

  • @Djocovicable Lol.... it's a part of the brake system on your car.
