Driving the Toyota RAV4-EV to and from Santa Monica on one charge, with an intermediate stop at Toyota Torrance and sneering at Toyota's commitment to fuel cell follies.

Originally parked in the Toyota booth, NOGASO was offered as an exhibit, the ONLY plug-in that Toyota has to display. Instead, the Toyota jerks showed prius, which get all their energy, ultimately, from the GAS PUMP and oil well.

Also some sneering at the crummy "volt-hoax", a miscreant Frankenstein car pumped by GM as a "green halo" model. But with such a small, inconsequential battery, most people will just skip plugging it in and drive on oil, which is what GM wants them to do.

So spend $40K for a junk VOLT-hoax so that you can get 30 mpg and brag to the neighbors about how you liked getting ripped-off by GM.

At the end of the day, over 113 miles range on the RAV4-EV, a 9-year-old battery pack still the best EV ever made -- even if Toyota is too stupid to allow it to be displayed.

I agree! That crap Volt is going to fail. And I can't wait.

  • Unfortunately, few would ever buy your RAV4.

At least with the Volt you could continue to drive after that trip without waiting for 8 hours for the battery to charge. According to motor trend, they used no gas in the first 37 miles of their test driving, and only 2.36 gallons of gasoline over the course of their 299 mile trip. If everyone drove a volt, dependence on oil would be drastically lower while have essentially the same utility. Fully electric cars only cater to a small niche now.

  • I agree with you 150%...

  • I bet ya the range on the volt or leaf after 9 years wont be as good as his rav-4, out of 100 mile range they might go down to 50 miles or worse.... lith-ion batt suck....

  • Is it true that GM intends to sell a version of the volt that wouldn't have an ICE (it would have a larger battery pack of course) for people interested in real electric cars?

  • Amazing to think they made an electric vehicle like the rav4 that works well yet still have nothing as good to sell 9 years later .

  • I love this video! One of your best ones yet! Can't get enough; so cool.
