Yes the depressing line of thought is nicely kept in check by the sheer level of action. It makes me want to say "I wish Liam Neeson was my dad." =)

@gregarganda That's very true, the director of this film has done a very good job keeping the action in this film there to keep us entertained and to keep our minds at ease with the sad story that comes with this film. Having Liam Neeson as a dad because of his role in this film would be awesome as he has played his part for this family so well in this film.
