Old Foresthill Road fire 6-30-08. CDF had about 4 S-2 Trackers there, Tanker 89 amomg them, 2 UH-1 helicopters and a DC-7, tanker 66 from Chico. The fire was located about 3 miles East of Auburn California in the American River Canyon. CDF, now known as Cal Fire, hit it pretty hard to get it under control fast. The fire was called the Old Fire due to it being on the Old Foresthill Road. One campground was evacuated at Mammoth Bar on the American River.

  • I worked night shift on that fire so I did not get to see this.

  • Nice video, thanks for uploading this. It seems like we've been seeing smoke for about 1 1/2 weeks now.
