Does anyone else agree that we could do without it when Thom is playing a piano riff like this or doing faust arp acoustic? At this gig he'd stop singing for a second and the clappers would start. Feeling alienated at a Radiohead gig is pretty alienated.

In general, you shouldn't clap unless a band prompts you to do so. I know of several that have said they can't stand it. If you paid to see them, they don't need amatuers to keep time for them.
