I was told there was a partridge that comes out when it hears people at this hunting camp, and that it takes about 5 minutes and all of a sudden it just appears and sure enough, after walking around for about 5 minutes looking for this bird we went in the camp and sat down and like out of nowheres the Partridge came walking up the road. It is hunting season in New Brunswick , but that didn't stop this very brave bird from not only coming around us but coming right into the camp. It follows you around like a pet dog, even likes to play . Many 4 wheelers go to this camp on friday and saturdays and the woman that owns the camp said the bird comes out visits with the people and won't leave until the last person drives off. Partridge has been doing this for the last month, and it made it on CTV news twice tonight. Camp is in Notre Dame, New Brunswick so if you see this very unique bird DON"T SHOOT:)

  • Hope he dosnt get hunted :P =) cute

  • some asshole set snares and killed it I was told.

  • as nice as this is... all it most likely ended up doing was giving it a death sentence... it has no fear of humans and will get shot...

  • sorry but your wrong , this is on private property and everyone that goes 4 wheeling there knows about the bird and know not to shoot it. Someone seen it just last week so it survived hunting season.

  • That's so funny. Here in Northern NB my dad had a partridge like this by his camp. She would run out as soon as it heard my dad's bike coming and follow him while he was driving. If she slowed down, he would call out to her and she would come running. We have pics of her sitting on his shoulder and his head, sharing an apple. Until someone found out about her and took advantage, and shot her. :(

    Perhaps they're related?

  • so they ended up shooting her , i'm afraid that will end up happening to this partridge too.

  • wow that really cool

  • Only nimrods shoot grouse on the ground. Too bad there are so many nimrods roaming the woods. Ruffed grouse are frequently called partridge, or Pats, in the NE C0CK00, you stupid SOB. In the old days outdoorsmen and women knew that you don't shoot grouse that were unafraid of man. These uneducated grouse were a sacred resource to woodsmen and woman who got lost or were sick and starving. It was an easy meal that kept them alive. Porcupines served the same purpose as survival food.

  • im a huntter i could never shoot that little guy omg so nice

  • she is soo cute...hope mankind don't brake her trust.
