G.H.Q. was formed in 2005 in Yokohama, Japan.
The core members are long time partners and session musicians, A on vocals, Zeta on guitar, and Ariyan on bass, with the addition of Synji on drums and Yutaka on percussion and sound engineering.
In 2006, G.H.Q. was joined by a seasoned keyboardist Nobuhiko Shinohara, who was a member of Flower Travelling Band, a legendary Japanese band in the early 70s, and subsequently played with the likes of Jim Keltner (Plastic Ono Band), Buddy Miles (Band of Gypsys), Nigel Harrison (Blondie), Alan Merrill, Tetsu Yamauchi (Free, Faces), Morphine, Gota Yashiki, and many others from the domestic and international music scene.
With her charismatic voice, A seduces listeners into a spiritual journey through mellifluous and edgy guitar riffs, psychedelic Hammond sound, strong, dynamic bass lines and powerful and articulate rhythm section.
Currently G.H.Q. appears regularly at several clubs (capacity of approx. 100) in Yokohama and Tokyo area.

Free, Faces)、Jim Keltner (ex. Plastic Ono Band)、Buddy Miles (ex. Band Of Gypsys)、Nigel Harrison (ex.

  • Great song by a great band. Little known (as a group) here in Tokyo/Yokohama... Have seen them several times... Love them. Deserve to sell a lot of records. If you're new to GHQ, you'll need to stick with this video til quite near the end to really get a feel/hear what they're about. Sound quality on this video not good enough (obviously). Live, the way this song kicks off... Beautifu... Brings tears to my eyes.
