What a wonderful gift to be able to move people to tears and existential reflection by playing a musical instrument. In a world of vulgarity and crudeness, Perlman elevates the soul reminding us of mankind's potential for refinement.

Many have played this, but for me, this man has extended the " connection" to something quite unreal.

Yeah, well, Stradivari and Amati violins are not exactly owned. They are given for life to great performers but they are not inherited and go on to the next great performers they are awarded to.

Not much to comment further.. It is very clear who are reading all these comments and have an access to them as a very innocent and bipartisan view could get "too many" negative votes. All I want to say is bullshit can not ultimately win and people can only harvest what they sow.

Who's back was i supposed to be speaking behind? I was just making an observation. There's no need to insult me.

Two generations ago people would never have spoken behind somebody's back like this; not publicly. What a nasty and bratty attitude! And it also helps a musician if God has granted him the ability to perform music in a way that touches his listeners. I wouldn't be too hard on someone who owns a good instrument; I consider it a blessing that someone makes decent music to listen to in a time when basically junk is made.

Yes, the Palestinians keep generations of people in refugee camps to brainwash them and lead them to death against their brothers. If anyone is the blame, it is the British and French who started the whole mess of Colonialism and redrawing boundaries. But why revenge? If you wanted peace, you would forgive fault, and let God do justice. Isn't he strong enough, if your case is right? Have you not read in the prophet Zechariah that anyone who attacks Israel after they returned would be defeated?

Oh it's easy to think that "Americans" are simply one people group. "E Pluribus Unum". I'm from Ohio, and I know people from Kentucky, who all own guns and don't usually follow government laws. And yes, the Federal Government. They are independent and do what they want. What you saw of the Jews is a direct lie. They are God's chosen people, and from the Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, that is their chosen land according to the Torah. America has been blessed by them. And they work hard.
