Giuseppe Verdi: Rigoletto Bella figlia dell'amore Luciano Pavarotti, tenor Cheryl Studer, soprano Leo Nucci, baritono Birgitta Svenden, mezzo Metropolitan Opera Gala 25th Anniversary at Lincoln Center New York, September 23, 1991 James Levine
Rest assured it's from 1991, from the Metropolitan Opera's 25th Anniversary Gala. To be exact, from the night of Monday, September 23, 1991. Good night (or day).
Uhhhh--if your chasing your love interest around the table--and that doesn't work, just grab her up and stand behind her, hold on and sing!!--lol
And YES---Pava is being Pava and chewing gum while singing! NO WONDER I always get in trouble for doing that! (;

I was 12 when I saw this on TV. Because of this quartet I started listening to opera. Good memories.

Cheryl Studer sings so beautifully here. Such a shame she didn't record Gilda at this time

This very well could be 1991. The author of the video seems to know. Pavarotti looks about that age. Don't know why you doubt the year.
