The Afri-Can Connection at Manye Academy Touring the Surrounding Community, Tema (Ghana)

Manye Academy was our first project area, and we were currently assisting to build Manye into an outstanding educational center, provide employment with high wages to local residents and to help the community develop an infrastructure that will support continued development. Manye was founded by Mr. Kabutey Nartey and his wife. Together, they finance the operations of the school which has a student body of nearly 300. The surrounding community consists of permanent residents and squatters, the majority of which cannot afford to send their children to school. Manye is a guiding light in this community, and without immediate and direct assistance, the continued operation is in jeopardy.
