Driving my 1970 Lotus Elan +2 for one of the first times in 25 years. After I bought it, it took several months to put it together. You can hear that it's not running super great, but it's glorious to drive!

  • Youre so lucky, wish i had mine running but it will take some time.

  • That was years ago - the engine exploded about 1,000 miles later, back in, um, 2005ish maybe?

Anyway, I just barely got the engine rebuild finished a month or two ago and got it started again. Still needs a radiator, but otherwise glorious to hear it running again!

  • Was that a stop sign that you just ignored? It won't be around long if you always drive that way!

    Don.

  • If you have a Flickr account i'll send you the link so you can see some of the photos of my Lotus.Let me know.

  • I have found that the standard radiator, from a "Triumph Spitfire" is really too small,i've used one from an Austin Metro,it fit quiet easily, just had to make some brackets,it is wider with about 50% more core, you dont need the side plates on either side of the radiator like you do with the original, the Metro one completely fills the space.
