so Mike got his first tattoo April 11th 2009 and just got the outline done by the wonderful Ann from Allied Ink! this is the very beginning of the tattoo
@drendon4 i doubt it..any decent tat artist wouldnt go too deep for fear of blow out of the ink in the dermis and pointless unnecessary pain...its the way her machine is set up...mines the same...if the voltage is turned down just enough to get the job done then it will slow down when it hits the skin it doesnt mean its going in too deep..in fact its a sign her machine isnt hammering away like a pneumatic drill on mega volts..she knows what she is doing..she wouldnt be in a shop otherwise
@keithXridesXhisXbike yeah i figured that out.. i went and drew my own design for a sleeve and another for my back, and im hoping the real thing will look as good, hopefully better
@bongitis please dont be another kid who gets his first tattoo and its tribal. at my shop we see hundreds of those a week. i mean to each their own and everything but tribal tattoos used to have deep meaning behind them. and now kids run around with black on black scribbles on their arms. please do your self a favor and design your own tattoo. even if your just combining 3-4 pictures off google and tracing them together so its customized to your liking. but if tribal is what you want then do it!
i have been a tattoo artist for 6 years now and i have come to one conclusion. i have customers who come in covered in tattoos talking about how much they hurt, but they love the pain, its addicting. but when i tattoo right around the same area which previous artists worked, they say there is no pain at all. so in conclusion, its not always going to "hurt", at the worst it will be bearable pain, but i believe its 50% the artists hand and 50% the location of your tattoo.
@bongitis ok listen its kinda obvious they hurt i mean its a needle goin into ur arm i would have to say that they feel like a cat digging its nails in ur arm and then bein pulled across ur skin but if u want the tattoo bad enough u ill get it and hold the pain down just remember do NOT move while getting it i hope i helped ya

I've never really paid attention to the sound the needle makes but when she tattoos, it sounds like she’s going really deep. Could be normal.
