"Rabbit Valley"
The sun comes up late, in Rabbit Valley
KIsses eaves with ease and wanton grace
I'm always awake, and so is Sally
Till it's time to lay us down in a cloud of sage
And I'll not soon forget
The state of confusion
I've been wrung out, and torn asunder
I've seen everything bad a man should see
Then just like that, around the bend
Was a valley so pure, so clean and so calm
It wanted me, and that was all I needed
We moved right in and had a shot of cold gin
Though I didn't see the play, a man asked me
What do you want most out of life
I had to think, and told him kindly
Let me live another day and I'll tell you then
Now I'm in the black, out in Rabbit Valley
Got a spread in the rocks, and a patch of hay
I never saw the man, the one who asked me
But if I did I'd say to him thank you kind sir.
