The L, R and S sets are a class of electric multiple unit operated by CityRail in New South Wales, Australia. The carriages are of stainless steel, double deck construction and are non air-conditioned. The "R," "S" or "L" set designation is dependent on the number of carriages in a set, "L sets" being 3 cars in length, "S sets" being 4 cars in length (usually paired to form 8 car trains), and "R sets" being 6 cars in length. These class of trains are due to be replaced by the A-sets from 2010.
