If i put my os boot drive on this would the pc still boot?

Hi SirJamesDDJ,
Where do you purchase the cables and led displays to connect to the individual/global fault LED headers?
-
@Satan4Eveer "no offense" then you call him a moron? eThug fail.

It's simple, you wrote the 100MB file, which wrote to and read from the 512MB onboard cache, so it's closer to a test of the interface :-) I typically run with a good 4GB file as it'll get very well past that onboard cache (Which you must admit, for typical PC usage, those small read/writes will indeed be running at that speed)

@MaYbYl8eR u can't to do raid the drives have to b blank to start wit and if ther not they hav to be formatted to make them blank thats y most ppl will tell u to only use empty drives to set up raid your only option is to backup ur files then setup the raid

How can i set up RAID without losing all my data?
-
So they use the: Marvell 88RC9580 I/O processor or not ?
-
I notice the raid sizes are all different. This seems to show non-exact disk/partition setup which can result in big imbalances in results on magnetic media, do we know this has no effect on SSD? In the Everest test for instance. 5:00
Hi moose51789,
Well, 8x Vertex 1800MB/sec is also really dificult to get, also even on a dedicated good raid card (i think you're refering to TOP/peak score), but as i mentioned .. More than 2GB/sec with 4 SSD using Areca its a fake ..
4xSSD IN RAID DOESNT EQUAL TO 4XSPEED
8xSSD IN RAID DOESNT EQUAL TO 8XSPEED
As more units you have on any arraid, less will be the multiply factor
ANY COMMENTS from the autor of this review ??

@VideoBarcelona I'm not sure what you're saying in terms of "it's a fake."
I did the CrystalDiskMark, and as mentioned used a 100MB file instead of the 1000MB I should've used.
You clearly know more about the technical aspects than I do. But the test results weren't faked.

Yo SJD!
Do you get to keep that RAID controller for doing the review?

@nickknutson I'm gonna hang onto it for a little while

Only 100MB files on CDM? You know that's just going to hit the cache, right?

@bladedspokes That's been mentioned to me. Wish I had realized this prior to the test. When I do the updated software video, whenever that disk comes out, I'll re-do that CrystalDiskMark test with 1000MB ;-)
