My golden retriever spends a lot of time in water, and as a result she sometimes gets bacterial skin infections on her belly. I at first tried all kinds of creams and sprays to get rid of it, and then I tried hydrogen peroxide and it worked like a charm. I spray the area several times a day and within three or four days it looks much better. I then continue to spray once a day or so until it is completely gone.

  • My dog T.C., an internet star over at DogFriendlyOrlando, has recently gotten several of these dark scabs on his back. At first, I thought it was just a battle scar from the Apopka Dog Park, but it has spread over the past couple of days. Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm going to give the peroxide a shot. It has at least helped calm me down a bit and will hopefully help T.C. heal up his skin infection.

  • my pomeranian has skin infection, the vet gave him mouth pills to use for 14days but he isnt responding well with it(vomiting..) does hydrogen peroxide makes their hair fall off or other side effects besides than curing ?

  • My Molly also used to have a skin infection. We cured it with oatmeal baths and flea preventative. C: She is all better now. We have never had the issues again.

  • yay thank you i feel so bad for my doggy she has it so bad now that its red again. I went to the vet they gave me pills called cefpodixime proxetil and metronidazole for 200 bucks!!! i cant afford it anymore and her rash came back once again... Im going to try this thank you i hope it works!

  • @Greenspots84 it doesn't damage intact skin... it does destroy white blood cells which is what a scab is mostly made up of.. so that's where that myth originates from...

  • @jujubeekittys peroxide is the base of many oral rinses. It will be fine if they lick it.

  • @Greenspots84 peroxide is still used on wounds but now it is recommended that it be diluted to half strength. I him health services they dilute with normal saline buit it is fine to dilute with tap water. I will be trying this today.... my Bernese Mountain dog smells like something dead!!

  • My dog got the same and she's a golden retriever as well.

  • Thanks so much for sharing!
