  • hey, thats very realistic! can you tell me if I can achive that with my 3ds max 6???

  • Sure! There are lots of different techniques and most can be done with 3ds max 6. All the best!

  • Did you use the water material from Arch. & Design with mental ray? Another way you can do it with the same effect is by using the noise modifier on a plane that has a lot of polys.

  • I use the dreamscape sea material and subsurface material. Plus a good lighting always helps. The plane with a noise as Displace modifier works very googd but ain't an adaptive resolution mesh. Cheers!

  • This is very good. Any details on what was done, how it was created?

  • I made the water using Autodesk 3ds Max and a plugin called Dreamscape. It's a pretty basic water but works fine. Thanks for your comment!

  • It actually looks like you can get wet on this one

  • This THE BEST. I had to sub u,,,,,,,,,

  • I know it's a drag... but could you at least give me the coordinates (material, values, bump level, bump material, etc)? It's sooo well done!

  • can you please make a tutorial

  • how did you create this? please help

  • im rendering a test of this as we speak, it may work or may not. make a plane with lots of polys, LOTS of polys. apply noise mod. adjust so the plane looks like a still image of the ocean. turn on autokey. go to 0, place key. go to frame 100 (or the last frame) and go to noise modifier. look at animation group. select animate noise, and set freq to any number (expiriment) and set phase to high number. i think the higher phase is at the end, the faster the ocean will move.

  • he may have used noise

  • WOW O_O DEADLY COOL. Out of all things to animate in 3d, water has to be one of the hardest, and you totally nailed it O___O

  • how did you make the movment of the waves? (not the the ripples) can you explain me? saludos!!
