I learned this Carter Family song through a Lonnie Donegan recording which accounts for the different words.

(G) My Dixie darling
listen to the song I sing
beneath the (D) silvery moon
with my (C) banjo right in (G) tune
I love no one but you
my heart is always true
my Dixie (D) darling, my Dixie (G) queen

I just got back from out of town
I've been rambling round and round
(D) I met lots of southern belles
(G) but I've no romance to tell
I've been true as true can be
I'll swear that on my bended knee
(D) there is no one half as swell
as my Dixie (G) belle

(G) My Dixie darling
listen to the song I sing
beneath the (D) silvery moon
with my (C) banjo right in (G) tune
I love no one but you
my heart is always true
my Dixie (D) darling, my Dixie (G) queen

Well I like whiskey and I like gin
I like the horses when they win
(D) Gambling in Kentucky races
(G) I meet lots of pretty faces
But there is one thing I will bet
my Dixie queen is the prettiest yet
(D) there is no one half as swell
as my Dixie (G) belle

(G) My Dixie darling
listen to the song I sing
beneath the (D) silvery moon
with my (C) banjo right in (G) tune
I love no one but you
my heart is always true
my Dixie (D) darling, my Dixie (G) queen

I'm going to marry and settle down
settle down in a southern town
(D) buy myself a small homestead
and (G) live in peace until I'm dead
There is one thing I can say
I'll say it to my dying day
(D) There is no one half as swell
as my Dixie (G) belle

(G) My Dixie darling
listen to the song I sing
beneath the (D) silvery moon
with my (C) banjo right in (G) tune
I love no one but you
my heart is always true
my Dixie (D) darling, my Dixie (G) queen
