Visit the great "Heidelberg Castle" in Germany that boasts of the biggest wooden barrel ever to have been filled with wine. The barrel was constructed in 1751 and can hold over 221,000 litres of wine!
Located next to the river "Neckar" the castle displays 1600's agate candy jars and mugs. The castle was defended by archer's slots. Heidelberg has Europe's third oldest educational institute, the "Ruprecht Karls University" founded in 1386.

  • Good job

  • Thanks to an american general, who took Heidelberg Castle as his headquarters after World War II, the castle has survived in the shape it is in today. He made it a point to be there, so it wouldn't get bombed anymore than it already had. I would like to shake his hand to this day. I grew up around there and spent countless hours in the castle. Many thanks to you for making this film and putting it on here for all to see.
