Lama should be 4ch controll and larger helicopters have 6ch controll.

I would say that battery has been charged while it's still hot. Two things that will damage a LiPo are: Charge straight after a flight, and letting the battery run flat.

2ch has only "Up and Down", and "Left and right". This may sound a bit boring but because of the effect of the tail rotor and torque you find that you can kind of "tack" them around the room like a sailing yacht. A 3ch also has "Forward and Backwards" so this makes them more acurate for sorties around the living room furniture.
