Falun Gong Arrested in Olympic Run Up

With one month to go before the Olympic Games' opening ceremony, Chinese security agencies continue to arrest Falun Gong adherents throughout China in large numbers. In Beijing alone, hundreds have been arrested and dozens sentenced to labor camps--without trial.
According to the Falun Dafa Information Center, or FDI, the Chinese regime continues to arrest and torture adherents of Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa. FDI says the persecution of this spiritual group has gotten worse—not better—since China was awarded the Olympics.

In Beijing alone, there have been at least 208 arrests since last December. FDI has verified 30 of them sentenced without trial to so-called "re-education through labor" camps.

FDI spokesman Erping Zhang published this statement:

"These arrests are not about ensuring a 'harmonious Olympics' as Party officials claim. Falun Gong adherents pose no threat whatsoever to the games. The Olympics are being taken as an excuse to put them behind bars for years."

Among those being held without trial in Beijing are Mr. Niu Jinping and his wife. Two years ago, Mr. Niu had met with a top-level European politician on his visit to Beijing. Niu provided European Parliament Vice President Edward McMillan-Scott with evidence of the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Eyewitnesses told FDI that on April 20 this year, Niu was beaten and arrested by plainclothes policemen who confiscated items from his home. Niu lives in Beijing's Chaoyang district, home to the new Bird's Nest Olympic stadium.

The Falun Dafa Information Center says that in total, more than 8,000 Falun Gong adherents have been arrested since last December. That's roughly equivalent to the number of athletes that will compete in the Olympics Games this summer.

Rata,I said I am not true FG practitioner BECAUSE: I am so upset with this prosecutions & torturing that I can not follow main FG stands: love, tolerance, understanding - in my case, I CAN NOT understand , therefore accept this kind of violence and it makes me really mad..of course, I could never do such a horror to a human -even if it is THE one who is forcing his ideals & madness to those poor people, but I do get overwhelmed with madness & say such words_I suppose you misunderstood me...or?

Re-Education in China is the same as Nazi Concentration Camp. Re-Education is non-existed in this camp. Furthermore, its main function is get rid of any threat opposition to human right which inherent to all human. It's ashame up until now that human being still subjected to this nazi theory.
