Probably 15 plus years to just break even

hOW MUCH YOU SAVE A MONTH ON THE ELECTRIC BILL COMPARED TO HAVING NOTHING..i PLAN ON USING ONLY 1000 WATTS IN PANELS BUT NO TRACKER
-
k so with 1700 watts the inverter can give you 4000 watts total? how much were both systems and all?
-
Seems that shadow over your PV pannels cuts current thay produce at 20-30%.

Hey Im new to connecting it to the grid. Do you have to use a Grid tie inverter or can you connect an inverter direct from battery or source straight to the grid. Like I said I am new to this Thanks.
-
Seems you can add another 2-4KW of solar pannels for your system, having big battaries and so powerfull inverter.
Congratulations!

My 700 watt PV and 1,000 watt wind system with grid tie 4,000 watt inverter. The tower shadow cuts output 1/2. Will have to move something.

Nice system. Any details for tracking mechanism please?
Indeed, any shadow cuts a lot.
Even shadow from hand over one PV pannel will reduce current let's say from 5 A to 2,5 A.
Reason: because solar cells are connected in line: it is the same as you have river, very long one but NARROW, and drop stone in one place: current slows.
Impressive set up!! Isn't the tail of the wind turbine supposed to be locked for the direction turning to be effective?

No.
The tail is spring loaded so as to (feather) let the propeller move sideways to the wind when the wind speed gets to high. This keeps the turbine from destroying itself in high winds. My problem is that I have the turbine mounted to low to the ground and experience turbulence and gusting causing the feathering to occur often.
