The SOPA and PIPA bills are currently in limbo, but not scrapped. we all need to stay informed about it. They will probably reword it and try to send it through again. Also, the NDAA act got rid of our constitutional rights. It allows the government to indefinately detain, murder, torture any american citizen without trail or ANY type of charges being filed. this is supposed to be for terrorism, but the bill, like the sopa and pipa is worded badly.

@BGTVMOVIES It would only effect our country's contributions..but us Americans have built a lot of the net..so you wouldst be able to always use the stuff made by those Americans you bash all the time..

I think i am more confused now after watching this video .

So we havent won the fight against the SOPA and PIPA but I recently read from one of the twitter accounts I follow that both bills have put on hold for now due to the black out.

@gamermd83 I don't but , it's what keeps us able to vote down things that we don't agree with. I used to be ok with the Patriot Act and thats just because defense trumps every other issue to me personally. But, It's went on for far to long and I don't care for what it does anymore. Even if SOPA/PIPA doesn't pass I wouldn't be surprised to see a differntly worded or named version of this bill show back up again.

What right does America have to control THE WHOLE internet?

@gamermd83 thanks, they both sound stupid censoring the internet and so taking away the right of free speech :/
so i get they're about screwing the internet, but what do SOPA and PIPA actually individually stand for? Not exactly knowledgable about American laws and bills etc. thanks.

@TheAshy14 SOPA: Stop Online Piracy Act, PIPA: Protect IP Act. They both have to do with "ending" piracy on the internet but the way the bills are worded, if they pass (which I don't think they will, it's not looking good for both) they will have the ability to censor the internet. Kind of like China's internet.

SOPA/PIPA - The problem here is in the wording and the fact that the goverment thinks they can actually control and censorship the internet. This is the same thing China does. Thankfully we have a Constitution (though I use the world lightly - since it seems to get ignored and overlooked regulary by people) that protects us from things like this. I don't see this bill going anywhere further - I think it's the one thing both sides can agree on that isn't good.

@Atrotic Never think that the Constitution is enough to keep this from passing. The government passes unconstitutional laws all the time. Ex: The Patriot Act.

Well I swore I heard that SOPA is off the charts now, 13 members of congress withdrew their support but PIPA is still due to go through last I heard.

@Blueyesensei18 Yeah, I've been hearing things are looking bad for both too. They're gonna be gone in no time :D
