Dipankar is an excellent Bansuri [Indian Bamboo Flute] player. In this small video clip you can listen to an excerpt of his performance. This was an informal performance where he chose to play 'Raga Jog' in an informal musical setting. He chose Jhaptal of 10 beats to play the composition.
His elder brother Bhaskar Mukherjee gave him tabla support. Bhaskar is an excellent Pakhawaj Player. He accompanied his brother on the tabla for fun. Although I sincerely regret the lack of audio-video synchronization in the gat part after Bhaskar joined in tabla.
Dipankar is currently learning with the famous sitar player Pt. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay http://www.geocities.com/sitar_sanjoy
We hope upload more of Dipankar, in more serous moods, shortly.
