Research historic events. Salieri may have been "second fiddle" in the genius category but he was respected, successful and wealthy. The adversarial relationship theory makes for good drama but lacks credibility.

@XXXDustinEchoesXXX salieri is not like the main character, he is the main character. If you really look at it this film is not about Mozart so much but the way Salieri felt about Mozart which is just as the play and the book was by Russian poet, Pushkin.
