  • When you turn right, the inward acceleration pushes you to the left and viceversa, your simforce does just the opposite. Set it ;)

  • Yes, you are correct, it was the first time it was ever setup and normally it is the other way around. The software lets you make all kinds of adjustments.

  • that is bad ass.

about how much does it cost to build one

  • It really depends. It can cost between $500-$3000 depending on what materials you use (and a lot of your time). If you go to the x-simulator forum you can read about all kinds of simulators people have/are building, all costing something else.

  • Excellant setup. You have inspired me to build my own simulator following your guide actually. All electronics bought apart from actuator & trying to get all hardware bits together, did you ever upgrade to a bucket seat, was the feel better?

Also which 3D and infra red software did you use.

    cheers

  • Unfortunately I have been very busy the last year and don't have much time for hobbies, so didn't make too much progress. Go to the x-sim forums, a lot of info is there. The chair is turning the wrong way in the video, all can be adjusted this was the first time I got it running.

The head tracking, it's trackIr4 and the 3d is just red/blue glasses, I have switched to a 120 HZ lcd since and use shutterglasses with the 3dvision stuff. It is insane for driving, especially with a projector.
