There were two very experienced divers with him keeping a very close eye, I being one of them. We had many back-ups and safety was a priority. Alden swims regularly in the Pacific and is very comfortable in the water aside from having a very calm demeanor. I agree that there are many 13 year olds that have no business going into the cenote's, but he got his certificate specifically so that he could explore them while we were in the area. For him it was a very empowering rite of passage.
