Beck trivialized the fact that millions could be pulled out of poverty by simply moving and working in new country, lengthening the lives of millions by several years if not decades. According to research by Lant Pritchett, the average Haitian's income increases by a factor of 23 by simply moving to the US. Immigration restrictions prevent him from doing so. To the extent that that policy keeps his income low, preventing a businessman from voluntarily hiring him, US policy is to blame.

And you compare saving lives with giving a change to move in more developed country? Right on.
Have you ever heard that people should take care of themselves instead of furious breeding even without a change of feeding their own children?

@UnwittingCattleCom thats just stupid tho

Good argument, very cogent. Can I have some gumballs now?

If lifting 1,000,000 people out of poverty a year is not worth it, in Beck's version of ethics, then he must think Oscar Schilndler is irrelevant because he only saved 1,200 from the gas chambers. 1,000,000 people are still 1,000,000 people regardless of how many other people are alive in the world. Beck's argument are collectivist to the core and ethically disgusting.

@rtgoodson yup yup old world problems that are trying to be fix with the same crap we have been doing for years. I think its time for a change and new ideas to handle the situation, to me the problem is the same as in trying to preform surgery with a surgeon book from the 1800. Everything is out of date our society, or ideology, are ideas of solving the problem the problems wont be settle with a dam wall or laws, wall never work non have really ever worked. Everything needs to be updated!!!!!!

@GoHardMG A difference exists between controlled (limited) and uncontrolled immigration. Like it or not, multiple ethnic/cultural groups can't coexist within a single nation-state on mutual terms. You point to the African and Muslim immigration into Europe, and I simply point to the increase of racial violence, riots, and cultural differences that currently exists within that scenario.

@rtgoodson But yeah a lot of causes of immigration have to do with socioeconomic problems, as well as problems that have occurred due to corruption and other government secret agenda. But anyways I really dont like the Idea of a melting pot but rather a buffet!!!!!!!!!!!
this puts it all in perspective. Our congress people should see this. Let's compassionately help 3rd world countries control their disease and over population. Secure our borders, have methodically LEGAL immigration sensibly and not "emotionally". God bless Arizona for stepping forward and actually UPHOLDING and acting on FEDERAL LAW since our Fed gov won't. They are cowards. Meanwhile we suffer financially and with heavy crime.

Excellent! Im a liberal who believes all people should have an equal chance in life. But that being said you cant argue with facts. The more that comes here legally and illegally the more that the poor people here stay poor, those same new immigrants get added to our poor and we as a nation lose. very well done!
