This film was made in 1955. Alaska hadn't become a state yet.
- Oil production is a shadow of what it once was. Known reserves are too expensive to extract.
- Aircraft manufacturing has almost disappeared as of 2010. The Boeing C-17 is the only major airplane still being built in California.
- Hollywood productions are taking a beating and shrinking from competition elsewhere.
- Recent years-long drought has hit agriculture hard, and
- Overcrowding has made real estate expensive.

Oil production curtailed, Industry limited and curtailed, resulting in State and individual income reduced, welfare up..........
