#These lyrics are probably the craziests I've ever seen, just excellent:
Motezuma and Fernando are preparing to kill each other in the most archaic way, together with Mitrena (who unsuccessfully tries to appease the two opponents), they sing
"Oh merciless fate! Oh, immovable Heaven!"
Mitrena means it, whereas the 2 warriors prefix "And then you will say" ... excellent!

Esta parte es el hermoso, loco e intenso, triálogo entre Moctezuma (VitoPriante); Mitrena, su esposa (Marijana Mijanovic) y el conquistador Hernán (Maite Beaumont). Vivaldi colocó un soprano castrati para este papel y Alan Curtis, el director de esta puesta en escena, respetó la idea aunque, por motivos obvios no fue necesario castrar a Maite).

Escrita y puesta en escena en Venecia en 1733, durante 270 años solo se conoció la letra, una alegoría, o sea, una romantización absolutamente inexacta de la historia pero, ¿acaso no son así todas las óperas? En 2002, en Berlín, se encontró la mayor parte de la música y se estrenó en el 2005.
