  • June and Gene became friends when he danced with her in I WNDER WHO'S KISSING HER NOW (1947) and when Warners borrowed June from Fox for this film, Gene worked with her to improve her dancing. Looks like it paid off!

  • Gene Nelson along with Dan Dailey were probably the most underrated dancers of all time. Gene is really great in this corny number and you should check out Dan in "It's always fair weather".

  • See also "Shipoopi" from the 1962 WB film "The Music Man" -- similar music, similar dress with red petticoat, but X20! I wonder if Meredith Willson was influenced by this, or the costume designer, or the choreographer...
