Digital radio launches in Australia - August 6, 2009. This is a compilation of some of the coverage of the launch day. Video courtesy of Commercial Radio Australia.
The thing is though, a standard FM radio is a basic circuit a kid can make from a kit. And digital needs integrated chips which you can't make your self. That's my point though, you can't shut off the analogue system. The DAC from the station is going to be much better than the crappy on in your radio and it's not a compressed signal.
But never going to turn off FM/AM. It's out-of-regular-band.

I am very proud we have gone digital. People need to know how much better 6PR and 6IX sounds now on digital.
