Yggdra Union: Map 16 Part 4 - Defeating Leon's Army

Note my calculated use of Blizzard on a non-Road tile. While I wish we could've used a Road tile, this method allowed me to defeat both knights at the top and fend off both Valkyries and one of the magicians. Had I stepped onto the road 2 squares above where I placed Durant, I wouldn't have been able to beat as many enemies. There's also the question of getting Leon set up to lose on a non-Road tile. It's literally a game of Chess, where I lure Leon into the correct spot and then decimate him.

Kylier is KEY in this map! Without her, you most likely would not be able to get the +2 MVP bonus, as she's able to deal quite a bit of damage to Leon. She also picks up some interesting items (see the bottom of this description).

Good thing Durant has 4 ATK to match Leon's 4 ATK, though Leon has a slight advantage with his 4 GEN vs durant's 3 GEN. Both have 4 TEC and 2 LUK, so they're almost evenly matched (not bad, Durant!)

I used Steal because of its 12 MOV so he could grab the Treasure Map and get into position as well as get Kylier closer to getting unioned in against Leon. Also, Kylier isn't the best against magicians, so she needed to have some gauge to help her win.

Note where I placed Durant - it was intended to lure Leon to the Fort square above and off the Road tile. I'll show you in Part 5 why this was such an effective move despite the losses Durant incurred.

Don't forget the Sweetberry at the bottom of where the magicians came in - I completely forgot about it as I went for the +2 MVP bonus the first time! Argh, time to do over!

Items obtained:

1. Cracked Dud: used for a trade later on for an ultimate weapon.

2. Princess Dress: GEN UP, ATK +2, TEC +4, LUK +4, no damage from all attributes (Ice, Fire, Lightning, Dark, Holy), Yggdra only. An awesome item to have! I think I've used it every playthrough, as it's particularly helpful against guys like Gulcasa toward the end of the game.

3. Strawberry: LUK UP permanently. Excellent for Yggdra or Durant at this point. I'm torn as to who should get it... leaning towards Durant, actually.
