30,000 newborn babies die from neonatal tetanus in Pakistan
- Tetanus infections usually result from unhygienic birthing environments and/or un-sterilized birthing tools used to cut the umbilical cord.
- In 2008, Pampers joined hands with UNICEF in Pakistan and launched an initiative to help save lives of babies through vaccinating them from Tetanus.
- This year, we have set our targets high, Pampers hopes to surpass last year's achievement in raising vaccines for babies in Pakistan.
- Over the next three years, Pampers and UNICEF will help 200 million babies get access to tetanus vaccines.
