hello i have the same scorpion mark 1 as yours, i just got the engine takeing out today, the crank was a little stiff so i put oil down there, and it made a big difference, now i have spark, I havent gotten around to clean the carb yet, i picked it up for little or nothing with other sleds, it was sitting for a long time in a field, also was wondering, how hard is it to clean the gas tank on it.

ah yes the holy grail of the black snowmobiles with the red racing stripe --sure did lust after one of these when they were new - my neighbors all had Fox Tracs, and ol blackie woulda kept up with them! we had a 900 lb. evinrude that went 20 MPH it was good fun, 1000 RPM opposing twin bilge pump motor pretty dependable, - we had a Montgomery ward with a little hirth? sachs? jlo? geez- my 80 panther is 29 years old! and its not considered vintage by the clubs- too new

Jeez, the thing sounds quite good. I remember them ol Scorpions. They weren't too dependable, but they were a very nice sled
