Iran: Millions of people staged a protest rally in Inqilab Avenue and the surrounding streets downtown Tehran and other city to voice their support to the Islamic Republic and condemn the early week profanity riots which breached the Ashura sanctity. Hundreds of thousands supporters of pro-government Iranians took to the streets of major cities on Wednesday in a show of force against the opposition. The thoroughfares leading to the square were packed with people as crowds of people were still joining. According to a report, the marchers had packed a distance extending from Ferdowsi Square to Azadei Square, an 8-kilometer- odd length. The people were chanting slogans in condemnation of foreign hands; death to Britain, death to America and Death to Israel. In Tehran, crowds burned American and British flags. They were also chanting slogans appealing to the Judiciary to prosecute those behind the profanation riots. Television footage of the rallies in various cities showed people chanting "We support our Supreme Leader". Some of them carried pictures of Ayatollah Khamenei. Flags and banners with the theme of Ashura mourning as well as images of Imam Khomeini, the Great and the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei were in hands of the people. One banner read: Dear Leader! You make a gesture and we will rush. Another banner read: Khamenei is Kowsar (adunbance), his enemy is Abtar (cut off).

This is what your freedom of speech is: " Stoning the innocent people ".
Actually Iran is free from US influence and this is what US couldn't tolerate. All this " Freedom of Speech" is just a propaganda. If US and its kids are so fond of Freedom of Speech then why they don't show these Huge gatherings in the favor of Iranian Islamic Government System in their TV Channels whereas they don't miss any little gathering of MKO and Velevet Movement.? Is't what your freedom of Speech all about?

i am iranian. you would do me a big favour if you would answer one question for me please:
why can´t I choose what to wear ? why can´t I vote who and whatever I want ? why can´t I buy and read any newspaper and literature I want ? why does a mother loose her children after divorce ? why don´t women have the same rights like men ?
vaazma 2 years ago
Yes I would definitely do u a favor but before I do that give me answer to this question: Are you a muslim? or a non-muslim. Because Iran is an Islamic state, Islam gives people freedom but freedom doesn't mean you cross the boundries set by God. Islam has bestowed more rights to women than anyother religion.

1. You Can wear whatever you want but when you go out of the home, wear Hijab if you are a muslim, if not respect the rules of an islamic coutnry.
2. You can vote whomever you like. No one stops you.
3. Did anyone stop you buying newspapers n literature. (I believe anything which is unlawful should be banned)
4. If those Children are not matured they can live with mother or father, it depends on the court decision. If they are mature (adult), they can decide by their own.

well first of all thank you for the answer.
i am iranian but not muslim. my religion is older than islam and has been in persia long before islam was brought to iran.
i think the idea of an islamic republic is wrong because it doesnt represent the ideology of every iranian.
2. i can vote whoever gets choosen by the religious leader
3. international newspapers are banned and there´s a censorchip on the national press
4.you know and i know that the children always go to the father
