Lahar Siren Test

this is the twice a year test of the Pierce County lahar warning sirens

the sirens heard in this video are

2 Whelen (piece of crap) 3016's

and 2 Federal Signal 2001's in fife


and a Federal Signal modulator (crap) in Tacoma,

I don't know why, but the model 5 didn't get sounded during this test

the 2001's are the sirens that are mainly heard in the video, im glad i live up here in milton where it is safe from eruptions and mudslides

SIREN UPDATE: I have just discovered another 2001 and a new Modulator near Pacific Highway in Fife

and I'm sorry about all the background noise

Which volcano are you near? I know Mount Rainer in Washington has a very high risk for lahars if it ever erupted.

hmm...considering how infrequently rainier erupts through, the melting of the glacial ice on Rainier would be more likely to trigger something first through...

YAY...I live in The Valley!!! Oh well at least I dont live in Orting, they barely have time to get out of dodge.

Do you think they might make the mall an evacuation place I was actually talking about this with someone today and I can see the Puyallup Armory finally seeing some action actually evacuating people to the mall or even making it a hospital because you know Good Sam would be wiped out. That is just going to suck when Rainier blows. Lets hope they warn us months ahead of time.
