  • if a motherboard says 20+4 pins... will it work on a 24 pin mobo, or i need to buy an adapter?

  • @MrDragonknight94 In a few cases, motherboard that say that will work on 20 or 24 pin, but without knowing more about the motherboard we can't say for certain

  • @LeonAtTPCS Its an ASUS M5A97

    thx for help

  • @MrDragonknight94 24 pin seems to be better for that board, it is your decision in the end, so we can't take any responsibility for whatever power supply you use, but some forums suggest 24 pin will be better for stability, just google "power supply for M5A97"

  • what if it says that the motherboard has 24-pin main power connector, those extra 4 pins counts as a must? and i cant not use them?

  • @ 2:30 he finally gets to the point.

  • ok, thanks

  • i got this adapter but its not working? i did connect with the 20 pin connector to the 24 pin motherboard but a redlight apears on the board, i think its not working becaus the power supply already has a 2 pin connector with 20 pin but they are seprate.

  • great tutorial m8, im really stuck here i have a asus motherboard with am3 socket, recently i bought a zalman cnps 9900 heatsink to replace my current heatsink but unfortunatly it dont feet in even though zalman spycyfication says its compatible with socket am3 :/
