The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and Northern Florida produced this video about Joe's wish to have a violin.
It was in the sixth grade that Joe's love for music became his life. He found his grandfather's violin, loved its melody, and made the violin his instrument of choice. Joe would come home from school and play the violin throughout the evening. At the age of 15, Joe noticed a pain in his arm. The soreness began to hurt more and more.
After receiving an X-ray, Joe was diagnosed with a rare and deadly form of bone cancer.
Joe embarked on a long road to recovery. It took ten months for him just to hold a pencil. Against enormous odds, Joe returned to playing the violin and, within four months, performed for his family and friends at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Reflecting on being 15 and diagnosed with cancer, Joe says a wish "gives you something to hold onto when you don't have anything ... it gets you through the day."

My best friend passed away from Osteosarcoma after fighting it for three years. Luckily Make-a-wish foundation granted him a wish to the Superbowl before he succumbed to the cancer . Good Luck and I hope you get better Joe!
