  • Man, this brings back memories. I was really proud of how Jael Kenos turned out. I remember spending ages just animating the way she walked. You didn't even get to see it in the game!

  • @Evilzap Damn i didnt spell it right :S i meant to say that you did like half game with those characters and skin variations, i remember the plan for having each NPC looking different with the system of modular skins, and there were supposed to be many npc's :D and not used eventually... but still came out hack of a game ha? I took this footage like year ego.. on windoes 7 and it runs well :) like in the old times, with the old bugs ;)

  • @ivangraphics Hey Ivan, I remember you did all the weapons and some of the levels and geometry. The game actually looks pretty good even after all these years. Obviously my character models look dated, there was many limitations back then. I remember I put together skin packs that allowed different types of NPC but overall I spend too much time on the main character and the aliens, I was never happy with the human NPCs. We had some really talented people and I enjoyed being part of that team.

  • @Evilzap Man, making characters, especially with the limitations back then is really outstanding. I remember all the packing procedures you had to do just to bring in a simple static model into the game, and later learning how to morph-animate the weapons - making characters back then is like a heroic act :)

And i think the appearance of the characters fits very well to the game atmosphere and mood and the game came out quite professional to my taste, even now :)

    Good times....

  • I really liked it, thought it was great. Fantastic atmosphere. Too bad the sequel for Half-Life 2 never really got off the ground - seems like it just died off? Such a shame. :/

  • Yeah the game was fun to play and bigger fun to do :) And second project had huge amount of work done already before it got new leadership. It even had test maps and was real fun to experience [and great mood].
