  • canon has been first with everything that photography as stood for, processor chips, speed, quality, i like nikon very much however, from my experience i have had canon are the best, 85% of photojournalists use canons, over 67% of post graduates in photography use canons, maybe their bodies are at fault in some ways, but let's not forget the glass, canons glass is for sure the very best, no doubt, no question IMO

  • i will wait for the review for this camera before buying one. its the smartest move im gonna make.

  • @milkshakeuk So get the 5DmII then. It's the camera for portraits and models stupid. The 7D is for sports, birds and crap like that.

  • @mikeismad61 I could had got the 7D with kitlens used for 9500 SEK, the 550D with kitlens new is about there. People try to sell their D300s with kitlens for 18000 SEK used!! You tell me which is the better deal ..

  • @atyl1972 What kind of fucking bullshit is this? Canon glass isn't the best, even so with no doubt .. You may have had a point if you where claiming something like "Nikon don't have an equivalent for Canons L-glass" or something such, but that would be all.

More users don't mean better equipment. Canon may have a wider range and push more bodies. Your speaking like "OMG Ford must be the best of cars", or something such ..

  • Great camera - I own one and we actually use it for proff commercials and shortfilm production. Only thing we are puzzled about is the lack of manual control over the sound input. We use an external soundrecorder so its not really a big deal, but it would really be nice to have.

  • I own it....it is better than they advertise...but don't get me wrong, the video is great, but I won't use it, and I wonder if the price could be lower in a model without it for those who don't want it? The viewfinder is amazing! I can manually focus now!

I am happy they continue to improve on the small sensor cameras! One petty grievance: When will Canon give you something better than a big, cheap, walking Canon ad for a neck strap? Love the jpeg/RAW toggle button! Great fast menu!

  • Yeah, but the d300s is $1800 usd. I don't get your point. It has a better autofocus than the 50D or the 5D/5D MkII, and is faster, the essentially the same IQ as the 50D. You make no sense.

  • I use BOTH Canon and Nikon and whilst I love the idea of the Canon 7D (in some areas it catches up with NIKON in other areas Canon jumps ahead) but not the PRICE ! £1700 is far too much - its too near the Canon 5D Mk2 and almost £900 above a Canon 50D. Sorry Canon, the 7D has been designed by YOU to take the maximum money from US.

Still that wouldn't look good as a marketing strapline would it?
