  • Simply glorious. If there were a substitute for heaven, Dusty's voice would suffice just fine.

  • The tears just roll down my face. When I hear her sing I feel like I can feel her soul..like our souls come together.

Every part of my being is moved by her music. I miss her. God Bless You Dusty!

Thank you for posting this lovely song and video. *)*

  • @Maekchuu Yes Dusty was born in London and AFAIK lived most of her life in Britain.

  • I'm sorry, i prefure cliff richards version.

  • Dusty is British? :o

  • Dusty's an incredible singer, and she makes "The water is Wide" just ring. But we're spoiled with more modern versions- the orchestra is just too much baloney behind her. Dusty should have had just a really good pianist playing behind her on this one. To MusicMadMaurice- in my early days, I had a crush on Dusty, and Diana Rigg. But where Lulu is concerned, I have a dvd of a rock music video called "Red, White and Blues" which has, among others, Lulu singing the blues. I have a crush on Lulu NOW!

  • Ah Dusty, I miss you still.......

  • I was just born in 1965, and my fave version of this song is by Eva Cassidy. Charlotte Church did a great job with it also. Dusty Springfield is great talent too!

  • It is so weird listening to this version after listening to Charlotte Church's version... this music does not seem to fit the somber lilting feel of the lyrics at all, but I guess it's the era... Dusty's version sounds almost like "Good Times, Bad Times" by Edie Brickell.

  • I'm not sure Dusty did the right thing in leaving The Springfields. She could have been a great folk singer like our Joan or the incomparable namesake Mary Travers.... but Our Dust was a Jill of all trades......a soul singer, a folk singer, a great R & B singer,a ballad singer and a singer and interpreter of show tunes!!! Now tell me who else could do all that and do it well?! Dusty you were the best. Sing your wide range of material in heaven.......R.I.P.!!!!!!
