Fire Levels Home in Historic District

Fire fighters arrived on scene and began their defensive attack on the fire. There were three separate structures on site. The two story home was already well involved in fire. The work shop just off the house caught fire when a power line fell and began to arc. Now two buildings were on fire. Fire fighters could not get close to the house because on of Dothan's drainage culvert runs down through the property between the house and the road. This hampered firefighting. Fire fighters set up both of Dothan's ladder trucks and used master stream nozzles to get a handle on the fire.

It is not clear what started the fire but it is under investigation by Dothan Fire Marshals. Dothan Police and Care Ambulance also responded to help. Fire Chief Larry Williams was also on scene and can be scene assisting fire fighters with pulling hose lines to help fight the fire.
