NYC Islamic Center Gets New Support

The planned mosque and Islamic centre blocks from the World Trade Centre site in New York is getting a new boost from a coalition of supporters that includes families of 9/11 victims. (Aug. 25)

I'm glad there are some 9/11 families who support this religious center. By building a relationship between Islam and the west, not only do we get beyond tolerating, but embracing the Muslim community and more importantly, alienating the extremists who only want to destroy the west. Discriminating against the Muslim community (who by and large what nothing to do with extremism) will only add fuel to the terrorists' fire.

As a truck driver, my husband & I support the many Muslim truck stops, restaurants,& motels along the way. We embrace the "sameness", of the differences. These are the AMERICAN-Muslims, who embrace all that our country has to offer to their families. Freedom of speech, freedom to pursue an education, a dream, and freedom for their daughters to not be sexually mutilated as a young child.
