    Hi and thanks for your concern but I think we know what we are doing.

    First, the backup doesn't always need to be a static rope. In fact it is more safe sometimes to use a dynamic rope depending of the hight.

    Second, the backup is not supposed to take any strengh in case of leashfall on the slackline, the backup is here in case the highline breaks (which rarely happends).

    Third, for the purpose of the test we added an extra backup, in case the main backup had a problem.

  • YES, we still try to understand how things work, because it is good to question oneself, ALWAYS. Don't think what you know is the perfect true, always ask yourself questions. Theory is one thing, PRACTICE is something else.

    On a 40m highline, the leashfall hardly adds any tension on both anchors, we measured it with a dynamometer.
