Inklebonker, you are saying a NEW mustang can beat a 20 year old lotus??? That doesn't say much for the mustang. But anyway, I guarantee the very lightly modified lotus (cat removed ) on "lotus fast and furious' a FOUR CYLINDER would beat any mustang

@jeepmanification A modern mustang can will and has beaten a modern lotus. The new boss 302 leguna seca beats the lotus evora s around leguna seca and in a strait line. The new stock 5.0 mustang can beat the old lotus esprit.

With old horse and cart suspension (leaf spring), on the Mustang, the Esprit built with superior handling will definately out perform

A modern mustang can not compete. Off the line, the mustang would win, but even a four cylinder lotus would catch and beat the mustang. i have seen it over and over, the heavy mustang can boast horsepower, but that is not the whole picture. Even a new 5.0mustang can't match the top speed of a 20 year old 4 cylinder lotus. look at "lotus fast and furious" on youtube
